Central Michigan University juniors Dolan Harmsen and Brendan Mcmahon act out one of the more popular JC Penney poses at the Outdoor Sports Complex, Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Mcmahon and Harmsen took several minutes to collect themselves in order to get the shot without laughing. Camera settings were 34mm at 1/320 sec f/5.6 and ISO 500 with flashes at 1/32.

This assignment was honestly really easy. I already had an established relationship with the team so it was not awkward or anything and was really just a go with the flow kind of photoshoot. I am glad I was able to do them for this assignment because they were familiar with my sense of humor in a way and I knew that I could boss them around easily and they would listen right away. It took a bit of time just because they kept goofing off in between people and It was really windy outside so we did struggle with that. We ended up having a few of the guys who were not actively in photos hold the backdrop and Gia held one of the lights with someone else holding the other one to keep it steady. Unfortunately the wind was way stronger than the guys and the backdrop broke but that is honestly not something we could have prevented. Choosing photos for this assignment was difficult just because I got so many of different guys and different poses. Overall I am extremely happy with this assignment. I also photographed the police officers which was a little difficult just because they are limitede on how much they can do movement and posing wise. I was able to make it work in the end though.
